What Is CNC Milling?

The CNC milling process begins with developing a 3D CAD file with the design then being converted into a machine-readable format. The CNC milling machine then reads the coded instructions which it puts into operation to create a custom-designed part or product.

The finished piece is of high quality with a precise finish so this type of manufacturing process is popular with industries such as automotive and aerospace that require intricate parts. CNC milling provides a high level of accuracy and consistency that can increase production and uniformity.

A Bespoke Process For Your Milling Requirements

Our CNC milling section is equipped with the latest machines, tooling, and CAD-CAM which enables us to offer an efficient, cost-effective, and flexible service. We have a wide range of CNC milling machines that vary in size. Our largest and most advanced machine is an Ibarmia ZVH 45L/3000 Star with 5-Axis capabilities, integrated rotary table and a 3m bed. We have a range of Doosan DNM’s and Mynx’s (complete with 4th axis) that allow us to manufacture machine parts that are precision repeatable. Our smallest CNC milling machine is the DNM4000 which, with its compact size and rapid travel, allows for reduced cycle times so we can provide you with better value components.

We regularly manufacture parts from S355J2+N and 316L. Our custom manufacturing services allow us to specialise in the milling of parts from exotic materials (S32760 & INC625) and we have developed a great deal of expertise in the machining processes and handling of these materials over the years.
