CNC Machining: CNC Turning Services
What Is CNC Turning?
CNC turning is a manufacturing process that gradually removes pieces of material, for example, metal like stainless-steel, until the desired shape is created. This is achieved using CNC turning machines such as a lathe that cuts and removes parts of the material with precision as it is rotated until the required amount is removed.
The material is secured to a main spindle which rotates it while the cutting tool works to gradually remove layers from the original piece. The process is widely used to manufacture cylindrical and symmetrical parts.
Metal Turning For All Your Complicated Needs
Our CNC turning services can create complex and intricate designs as part of the manufacturing process. The turning process allows us to create this type of design quickly and accurately, turning raw material into precision-turned parts. We use the latest CNC turning machines, tooling, and CAD-CAM which allows us to offer an efficient, cost-effective, and flexible service with competitive pricing.
Our newest addition (Doosan Puma TT2100SYY) has twin spindles, twin turrets, and twin live tooling. This allows us to rapidly manufacture highly precise, complex, and large batches of smaller components.
Our largest machine (Doosan Puma 700L) is capable of a CNC machining process that manufactures parts up to 1m in diameter and 3m in length.
We Can Manufacture Your Parts With Bespoke Requirements
We specialise in the manufacture of CNC-turned parts from exotic materials (S32760 & INC625). In recent years our teams have developed a wealth of expertise in CNC machining and handling of these materials. Our CNC manufacturing process also includes regularly manufacturing parts from high-strength steel such as S355J2+N and 316L.
We can create bespoke parts that meet your exact specifications. Get in touch to order CNC-turned parts or to find out how our team can help with your project. We can discuss your individual requirements and how our expert team can provide a fit-for-purpose solution.
What Is CNC Turning Used For?
The CNC turning process is used to create high-quality parts that have exceptional accuracy. The production run can be tailored to your exact specifications with the cutting process creating your designs quickly. This process is best for intricate, cylindrical designs as it involves holding bars of material in a chuck and rotating them as the cutting tools remove pieces until the desired shape is achieved. As the desired shape is achieved through the removal of material, it is also known as subtraction machining.
